“The Last Waltz“, posljednji koncert koji su The Band održali na Dan zahvalnosti, 25. studenog 1976. godine u dvorani Winterland Ballroom u San Franciscu te koji je Martin Scorsese zabilježio kamerama i pretvorio u istoimeni film, ponovo će zaživjeti kao masivni box-set.
Etiketa Rhino Records izdanje će na tržište izbaciti 11. studenoga na nekoliko formata, uključujući remasterirani dvostruki CD, 4CD/Blu-ray deluxe set te 6LP deluxe set, što će 9. prosinca slijediti masivnim 4CD/2Blu-ray setom namijenjenim kolekcionarima.
Inicijalna deluxe set izdanja sadržavat će kompletnu audio snimku koncerta, s materijalima s probe i isječcima, dok će vinilnu verziju odlikovati 180-gramske ploče u raskošnom pakiranju. Te edicije sadrže pjesme koje se nisu mogle čuti u filmu, uključujući “Furry Sings The Blues” s Joni Mitchell i “All Our Past Times” s Ericom Claptonom.
Limitirani 4CD/2Blu-ray set namijenjen kolekcionarima uz kompletnu audio snimku koncerta također će na Blu-ray diskovima sadržavati film te rijetki intervju Scorsesea i Robbiea Robertsona iz ’90-ih godina prošloga stoljeća, a uz koji će još doći knjiga na čijih će se 300 stranica rasprostirati Scorsesejev filmski scenarij i nikada ranije viđene fotografije s koncerta.
Scorsese je za set namijenjen kolekcionarima napisao i pregovor, a on će biti objavljen u svega 2.500 kopija diljem svijeta.
Osim Joni Mitchell i Erica Claptona na koncertu su kao gosti još svirali Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Dr. John, Neil Young, Neil Diamond, Ringo Starr, Ronnie Hawkins, Muddy Waters, Ronnie Wood, Bobby Charles, The Staple Singers te Emmylou Harris.
