Možda najpoznatija pjesma U2-a, “One” proglašena je najboljom pjesmom u povijesti prema glazbenom magazinu Q. Lista od 1001 najbolje pjesme u povijesti sastavljali su urednici časopisa Q i nekoliko poznatih glazbenika.
Pjesma “One” nalazi se na “Achtung Baby” albuma iz 1992. koji je bio prekretnica u karijeri U2. The Edge je ovaj ‘naslov’ prokomentirao: “Oduvijek sam znao da će ona biti broj jedan u nečemu”. Na drugo mjesto uvrstila se “I Say A Little Prayer” od Arethe Franklin, dok je treća veliki hit Nirvane “Smells Like Teen Spirit”.
