"Playlist: The Very Best Of The The" - nova je kompilacija kultne britanske synth-rock grupe The The predvođene alfom i omegom Mattom Johnsonom, a objavljena je ovoga tjedna.
Kompilacija je izašla u sklopu serijala bivše im matične kuće Sony Music "Playlist: The Very Best Of...", a na njoj se nalazi 14 standarda koje su snimili u periodu između objave drugog "Soul Mining" (1983.) i šestog "Hanky Panky" (1995.) studijskog albuma.
Kompilacija tako sadrži uspješnice poput "Uncertain Smile (12'' Remix)", "Infected", "The Beat(en) Generation", "Dogs Of Lust" te "I Saw The Light", a posebnost joj je to što su na njoj uvrštene i "Jealous Of Youth" te "That Was The Day" - glavne pjesme s EP izdanja "Shades Of Blue" (1991.) odnosno "Dis-Infected" (1994.).
Bendu je to druga kompilacija u karijeri. Prva je bila "45 RPM : The Singles Of The The" iz 2002. godine, koja je dosegnula 60. mjesto britanskoga charta.
